  1. Congratulations to MHS Band!!! They competed against 8 other bands from various places around the U.S., and ended up receiving a Gold rating (meaning a score of 90 or above), 1st place in our division, the "Adjudicator" Award (which is highest honors given by the judges), and the Outstanding Band award (we received the highest score of all the bands and won the festival).
  1. Attention Seniors! Rotary scholarships will be accepted on Monday April 3rd for the deadline, being as April 1st falls on a weekend during Spring Break! Students may turn in their completed applications to Ms. Piercy in Student Services on Monday April 3rd

Attention AP Students!  The deadline for ordering your 2017 AP Exam(s) is TODAY.  2017 AP Exam Order Forms are available from your AP teacher or Bookkeeper.  All AP exams must be ordered at the MHS Bookkeeper's window-checks made out to MHS AP ProgramCost for regular exam is $53 - we are looking at ways to reduce the cost.  A $25 Deposit for each exam is due by Friday March 24, 2017.  Some students will qualify for free exams- with waiver form (available @ Bookkeeper WindowLate-Testing Exams will cost $129 per exam ($53+ $45=$98) and cannot be paid by waiver.  Alternate exams for schedule conflicts will be paid by waiver Please consult your AP Instructor, the AP Bulletin for Students and Parents or online for further information.
  1. HEY MHS! Do you love numbers, calculators and number 2 pencils? If so, come join Team Math to compete at the Central Oregon Math Contest Thursday, April 13th held by COCC, Bend. If you are interested or have questions, see Ms. Gilmore room 36. Deadline to register is April 7thGO TEAM MATH!
  1. Sportified is offering an early sale on their personalized gear for Track & Field. Get your personalized hoodies and shirts ordered by March 24th before the prices go back up. Sale order forms are available from Jake Frank. We didn’t forget Tennis, Baseball, or Softball though. We have personalized gear for you guys also. Pick up your order form from Misty at the bookkeeper’s window today!
  1. Any Junior/Senior wanting volunteer hours, and is interested in ANNOUNCING at the HOME softball games, please let Coach McConnell know ASAP. We're looking for someone to announce line-ups, play walk-up songs, introduce new batters, etc. Thanks.

Did you know that in Intro to Agriculture Science and Technology, you will learn about FFA, welding, how to use GPS technology, learn to drive a tractor, survey land, grow plants, and even explore the animal industry. Small Gasoline Engines is a hands-on class where you will disassemble and reassemble an engine and learn about how each component works. In Horticulture and Greenhouse Management, you will participate in weekly field trips to help landscape around our community, as well as plant, grow and manage the school greenhouse. In  Animal and Vet Science you will explore animals through hands-on labs, field trips and group projects. See Mrs. Vollmer for more info. before we start forecasting for next year in early April. 
  1. Community Read 2017- Author, Valerie Geary will be showcasing her book, Crooked River on April 6th and 7th in Jefferson County. On April 6th, Thursday night at 5:30 PM she will join Sue Young’s MHS digital photography students at the Art Adventure Gallery opening night. Students will be displaying their photo responses to her book. We would encourage all students, parents, teachers and friends to join us at this gallery event. Photography students are invited to come meet the author and bring their family to see their photo display.
  1. Attention 11th and 12th Native American students!! OHSU On Track is hosting another field trip to OHSU on Friday March 24th. Students will tour the OHSU campus, explore OHSU's Simulation Center and meet local Native American health care professionals. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is provided. Sign up with Ms. Piercy in Student Services.
