  1. Hey Seniors, Do you have a 3.0 GPA or higher and plan on attending Central Oregon Community College? COCC has a rolling application deadline, but if you apply now and also complete the COCC Merit Scholarship application by March 1st, you could be offered a scholarship of $1,500! This means that if you also receive the OR Promise grant, you will have money left over for cost of living expenses. Check out the listing on Naviance or ask a counselor or Ms. Sisk in the Future Center. (This scholarship is only for in-district students and they award 48 scholarships, so your chances are good!)
  1. Hey Junior Girls! Oregon Girls State, sponsored by American Legion Auxiliary, is looking for applicants for this year's Summer program which runs June 11-17, 2017. If you are interested in Leadership, governmental processes and the rights and responsibilities of citizenship, this could be a great opportunity for you! There is a potential to earn scholarship money after completing the program. Check out the Summer Opportunities wall in Student Services for more information and to pick up an application! The deadline to apply is April 15th, 2017.
  1. Are you interested in Perry Tech Institute? February 16th is your day then. Stop by Ms. Piercy's desk to sign up to meet with a representative from Perry Tech Institute!
  1. Hey Seniors, make sure to keep checking Naviance for new and updated scholarship postings! Currently all scholarships posted with deadlines prior to April 15th are updated and ready for you to apply! Just to highlight a couple of new postings, check out: The Seneca Scholarship ($5,000) and the Structural Fire Science & Paramedicine Scholarship (amount varies). Also keep in mind the Oregon Promise Application is due March 1st!

Hey Seniors! IF you have a 2.5 GPA (or close to it) and are thinking about your possible next steps after high school, don't forget to apply for the Oregon Promise, which opened in October. The Oregon Promise may cover some or all of your tuition for two years at any Oregon community college. There are a lot of 1 and 2 year certificates that can prepare you to go into the work force or you can go after a transfer degree and move onto a 4 year university to earn your Bachelor's degree. This is a great place to start for many students or great to use as a backup plan too. Go to www.oregonstudentaid.gov to start your application today! The deadline to apply is March 1st. See your counselor or Ms. Sisk in the Future Center for more information or for help
